We hope that you are all looking forward to Simons Summer School on the Correlated Electron Problem this coming weekend. Below are a few final reminders:

 

Dates of Event: 20th May 2016 – 22nd May 2016.  The Event will start promptly at 17:00 with registration, this will be followed by a welcome at 17:15.

 

Travel:  Please see the attached documents and details. Please note that if you are coming from London Central there are fast trains from London Waterloo to Egham (not Windsor). The journey time is approximately 40 minutes.  Egham station is 3.5 miles or 10 minutes by taxi from Cumberland Lodge.

For those of you that indicated that you would like to take advantage of the group taxi service then I will be in contact in a separate email about the arrangement and time to be at Egham station.

 

Registration: Registration will begin at 17:00 on Friday 20th of May at the venue.  You will receive a pack and a name badge.

 

Please note the schedule on Sunday morning has a free period. If you plan to go to Matins in the Royal Chapel on Sunday morning, you must sign the list in the bar the previous day, and have a valid photo id with you (preferably a passport). Appropriate attire is required, so bring something smart and sensible to wear to the Sunday chapel service as senior members of the Royal Family may be present, appropriate security checks will be carried out. You are NOT allowed to take mobile phones or cameras with you to the Royal Chapel. 

 

Accommodation and meals: Accommodations are confirmed at Cumberland Lodge, and room check in will be available starting at 16:00 on Friday 20th of May. Please note that Rooms must be vacated by 9:00 am on Sunday 22nd of May. All meals will be served at Cumberland Lodge, for times please refer to programme. The Lodge has a well-stocked bar that accepts chip and pin, but it is worth bringing cash along as there is NO bank ATM machine and you are at least a mile from the closest town. You are NOT allowed to bring your own alcohol onto the premises.  Cumberland Lodge is very strict about compliance with this policy. 

 

A standard letter to confirm your attendance and participation at Simons Summer School 2016, will be included in your registration pack. If your university requires anything further or more detailed, then please email us the request.
